Seating ensemble comprising two armchairs, a two-seater sofa, a stool, and a side table. The pieces are upholstered in dark green faux leather, creating a refined contrast with the light bentwood frames. Giuseppe Pagano Pogatschnig was a leading Italian architect, designer, and editor of Casabella magazine. He helped shape the rationalist architecture of the 1930s and co-designed the 5th and 6th Milan Triennale with Gio Ponti, as well as the Italian Pavilion at the 1937 Paris World’s Fair. Initially a supporter of fascism, he later distanced himself from the regime, joined the resistance in 1943, and was arrested in 1944. Pogatschnig died in the Mauthausen concentration camp in 1945, just weeks before the end of the war.
