Pair of Napoleon III–style cassolettes crafted from white marble with richly detailed gilt-bronze mounts. The handles are formed by two symmetrically intertwined snakes with open jaws, rendered in a naturalistic and finely sculpted manner. The classical Louis XVI-style vase bodies rest on a gilt four-lobed base with a twisted profile and a tapered foot adorned with banded decoration and stylized leaf calyxes. The artichoke-shaped finials are removable, revealing sockets for taper candles. Incised signature “A + D” (unidentified). Professionally cleaned and polished.
