Pair of Italian Armchairs in the Style of Paolo Buffa, 1950s

Pair of Italian armchairs in the style of Paolo Buffa, dating from the 1950s. The elegant cherrywood frames feature gracefully curved armrests and open sides with intersecting wooden supports. The tall, slightly reclined backrests are supported by horizontal wooden slats at the rear. The chairs stand on slender, slightly splayed legs. The generously padded seats and gently curved, button-tufted back cushions have been newly upholstered in a patterned blue fabric. The wooden frames have been restored.
