Pair of Empire armchairs with mahogany-veneered frames and fire-gilded bronze mounts. The armchairs have been professionally restored and refinished and newly upholstered in a light blue satin fabric.
Provenance: According to family tradition, from the af Ugglas family. Possibly two of the six “ländstolar af mahogny med tagel stoppning” [mahogany armchairs with horsehair padding] recorded in the 1812 estate inventory of Count Samuel af Ugglas (1750–1812), listed in the writing cabinet of his residence on Drottninggatan in Stockholm.
