Pair of green and gold armchairs attributed to the Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti. The chairs rest on conical front legs and slightly splayed back legs. The trapezoidal backrests give the pieces an elegant, architectural silhouette. Newly upholstered in a high-quality iridescent green-gold velvet with light piping and button detailing. The designs for these chairs are illustrated in Domus No. 83, November 1934, p. 60 — the architecture and design magazine founded and edited by Gio Ponti.
