Monumental 36-Light Empire Chandelier, 19th Century
Exceptionally large 36-light Empire chandelier made of bronze, partially fire-gilded and adorned with glass prisms. The candleholders are arranged in pairs across two tiers, with a total of 36 chandelier arms.
Between them are lyre ornaments with scrolling foliage on the widest ring and acanthus leaf ornaments on the ring above. The rings are additionally decorated with rosette ornaments.
The upper section is crowned by elongated acanthus leaves, also fire-gilded. In the lower section, the frame forms a basket-shaped structure terminating in a pendant finial.
The chandelier has been restored and carefully cleaned.
