Exceptional table with an Italian micromosaic top and Viennese base made of fire-gilded bronze. The table top is decorated with a detailed micromosaic in the form of a flower bouquet with doves, surrounded by other bouquets of different botanical species.

The excellent quality and workmanship of the table suggests that it was made for a special occasion; the subject matter, with doves and delicate flowers, could make it an engagement or wedding gift. 

Provenance:
Austrian high nobility. According to the previous owner, the table belonged to the youngest daughter of Emperor Franz Joseph I and Elisabeth, Archduchess Marie Valerie of Austria, and her husband Archduke Franz Salvator. It was kept in their hunting lodge in Gaming, Austria.
