Set of eight armchairs by the French ébéniste Pierre-Benoît Marcion, with carved lion's heads and paw feet. The frame is made of polished mahogany. The backrests and seats are newly upholstered in a rosé-coloured fabric with a gold-coloured tassel pattern.

The cabinetmaker Pierre-Benoît Marcion (1769-1840) was one of Napoleon's main suppliers of furniture of all kinds. He is known for his restrained decorations and balanced geometric designs in mahogany. For this model, see Jean-Pierre Planchon, Marcion: ébéniste de Napoléon (2007).
