A magnificent Baroque gilded stucco frame from Sweden, crafted around 1750. The frame features central cartouches with notable heraldry: at the top, Sweden's "Tre Kronor" (Three Crowns) emblem, and at the bottom, the monogram "AF" for Adolf Frederick of Sweden (1710, Gottorf – 1771, Stockholm). An inscription on the reverse, signed by gilder Friedrich Gedeuer, dates the gilding to 1753. Its monumental dimensions of 328 x 228 cm and the royal heraldry suggest a courtly context, while the tall rectangular format indicates its original use as a portrait frame. Provenance: From the inventory of a historic framing dynasty in southern Germany.
