Armchair by the French ébéniste Pierre-Benoît Marcion with carved lion's heads and paw feet. The frame is made of polished mahogany. The backrest and seat are newly upholstered in a rosé-colored fabric with a gold-colored tassel pattern.

The cabinetmaker Pierre-Benoît Marcion (1769 Paris - 1840 ibid.) was one of Napoleon's main suppliers of furniture of all kinds. He is known for his restrained decorations and balanced geometric designs in mahogany. On this model, see Jean-Pierre Planchon: Marcion - ébéniste de Napoléon, 2007.
