Delicate small Spanish tazza with Moorish-inspired gold-inlaid decoration to the bowl interior and circular disc foot. Finely executed historicist metalwork in the tradition of late 19th-century Toledan damascening. Plácido Zuloaga was the leading figure in the revival of Spanish damascening in the 19th century. Trained in the Zuloaga family workshop, he elevated the craft of gold inlay on iron to international prominence. His works were widely exhibited in Europe and the United States and are today held in major museum collections.
