The fall-front writing surface displays a segment-shaped panel above a two-door lower cabinet. The piece stands on tapered legs, with softly rounded corners, a broad upper drawer, and a slightly profiled top. The interior is particularly elaborate: a temple-shaped central compartment in Carrara marble with brass capitals and frieze forms the focal point. It is surrounded by small drawers, letter compartments, and arched pigeonholes. The fittings are crafted in brass. The secretary has been professionally restored and hand polished with shellac.
